1. What Hausmates is

In short: A free place where members post homes and find each other.

On Hausmates, members post rooms and homes in coliving groups, shared houses and cohousing. Others can reply for free.

Hausmates is not a landlord or agency. You make any rental agreement directly with the residents or landlord; we are not a party to it.

2. Your account

In short: One account per person, with real details.

You are 18 or older. You use your own name and real details, and keep your login to yourself.

3. Posting a home

In short: Only if you are allowed to, and honestly.

• Only post a home if you live there, own it or have permission.
• Describe the home honestly and use photos of the real home.
• Never ask for money to reply or to view the home.

4. Prepared listings

In short: Sometimes we prepare a listing for you.

Sometimes we prepare a draft based on a public listing and send the residents a link to take it over. Such a draft is not public and only goes live when the residents publish it themselves.

5. Treat each other well

In short: Treat others the way you want to be treated.

No discrimination, harassment, spam or scams. Never ask for money up front before you have met and seen the home.

6. What we may do

In short: We remove what is not right.

We may remove listings, messages or accounts that break these rules. See something wrong? Email us.

7. Your content

In short: What you post stays yours.

Your texts and photos stay yours. You allow us to show them on Hausmates while they are online.

8. Liability

In short: We do not check every home or person.

We do our best to keep Hausmates safe and reliable, but we cannot check every listing or person. Always view a home yourself and make agreements carefully. We are not liable for agreements between members.

9. Leaving

In short: You can stop at any time.

You can delete your account at any time. Email us if you need help.

10. Law

In short: Dutch law applies.

These terms are governed by Dutch law. If we cannot resolve something together, the competent court in the Netherlands decides.
